Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This is a series of paintings which were actually painted on the PBS TV series Paint Along with Nancy Kominsky, which ran in the 70-80s. They were all very quick studies...very challenging to paint an entire painting in 26min. real-time.
